The Teltonika TRB256 is a robust industrial IoT gateway engineered to provide reliable mobile connectivity for M2M and IoT deployments. It supports 4G LTE Cat M1 (LTE-M), Cat NB1/NB2 (NB-IoT), and EGPRS networks with extended support for the 450 MHz frequency band, improving signal penetration in challenging industrial environments. Featuring dual SIM slots with configurable automatic SIM switching and failover policies, the TRB256 guarantees uninterrupted cellular connectivity.

Equipped with versatile interfaces including 1x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, RS232 and RS485 serial ports, 3 digital inputs, 3 digital outputs (open collector), and 1 analog input via a 16-pin terminal block, it is ideal for industrial telemetry, metering, and critical infrastructure applications. The device runs on Teltonika's RutOS (an OpenWrt-based system) providing advanced network features such as FOTA, RMS remote management, cloud integrations (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, ThingWorx, Cumulocity), and supports multiple industrial protocols including Modbus, DNP3, DLMS, OPC UA, and BACnet.

Power is supplied through an industrial 16-pin terminal block supporting 9–30 V DC with reverse polarity and surge protection. The unit is housed in a compact aluminium enclosure (83 x 25 x 74.2 mm) with an IP30 rating and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +75 °C. Mounting options include DIN rail and wall installations.

This gateway’s advanced software stack features VPN (OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard), firewall, and numerous management interfaces (WebUI, SSH, TR-069, SNMP, MQTT) designed for secure, widespread industrial network integration and management.
