The unit supports extended transmission ranges up to 100 km under ideal conditions, though current firmware limits MLO to 20 km with future updates expected to extend this. It is powered via Passive PoE (44–54V DC), supplied with a 54V DC, 0.56A 10 GbE PoE adapter.

Connectivity options include one 10 GbE RJ45 port and one 10G SFP+ port, providing versatile uplink options via copper or fiber. The Wave MLO5 also integrates a dedicated spectral analysis radio and channel puncturing capabilities for advanced interference detection and avoidance.

Constructed for rugged outdoor environments, the device comes in an IPX6-rated aluminum alloy enclosure with UV-resistant polycarbonate components and supports operational temperatures from -40° to 60° Celsius. Installation is simplified via pole-mounting hardware and integrated Bluetooth for initial setup. GPS support is included for synchronization.

Managed via UISP software, the Wave MLO5 offers a suite of tools including alignment, speed testing, ping, traceroute, discovery, and site survey functions. Network security is ensured with WPA3-PSK (AES) encryption. This product is NDAA compliant and holds FCC, IC, and CE certifications.
